Hot on the Heels of the release of their newest album, The Silver Chord, Australian rock band have announced their plans for a tour set to commence in the late summer of 2024. The extensive rollout includes marathon sets that will last over three hours, acoustic sets and more, spanning from both coasts and many cities in between.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard’s 2024 dates planned for the U.S. start with an appearance at The Anthem in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 15. From there, they’ll head to New York with six hours of music in the form of two marathon sets at Forest Hills Stadium on Aug. 16 and 17. They’ll continue to hang around the East Coast with stops in Boston, Portland, Maine, and Toronto before heading west for their first acoustic set of the tour at the Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre in Detroit on Aug. 23. The month of August will see further appearances from the band in cities like Cleveland, Ohio, Newport, Ken., Philadelphia, Richmond, Va., Ashville, N.C. and Nashville, Tenn.
September will be welcomed with another marathon set, this time at Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavillion at Northerly Island.Notably, the ninth month of the year will also witness the band perform at some of the country’s most beautiful outdoor amphitheaters while the weather still allows it. They have dates planned for The Astro Amphitheatre in Omaha, followed by two nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison on Sept. 8 and 9, the latter of which will enjoy an early and late show. The fall’s shows will conclude with yet another marathon set at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Quincy, Wash., on Sept. 14.
After a well-deserved rest over the month of October, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard will pick things back up again at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., on Nov. 1. They’ll then lock into their acoustic inclinations in San Diego at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. They’ll stay on the West Coast, dishing out their sound in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Ariz., and more.
Their final marathon set of the tour is set to go down at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater in Austin on Nov. 15 before they head to Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, then St. Augustine, Fla. and Miami, which will serve as the criminative stop on the tour, set for Nov. 21.
